The tour package is ideal for primate lovers who are interested in doing chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe forest and after-which go for a canopy walk. This customized Rwanda primates tour package also involves seeing other smaller primate species within the Nyungwe forest and going to the Volcanoes National Park for Mountain Gorilla Trekking. With this package visitors should expect to get involved in some of the other activities considered to be the best while in Rwanda – Touring Lake Kivu and the Ibyiwacu cultural village, visiting one of the Kigali genocide war memorial sites and off-course Golden Monkey Tracking.

Our 7 days safari starts with your arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda. Arrive at Airport, meet and greet and get transferred to Kibale National Park with a lunch stopover in Fort Portal Town. This park is a Primatologist’s treasure with a population of more than 1000 Chimpanzees. Kibale Forest is a wonderful place to experience the extra ordinary diversity of life in a tropical rainforest. Along the way, enjoy seeing the beautiful countryside of Uganda. Check out the long horned ankole cattle along the road. You should reach early enough so that you have a long rest as you prepare for Chimpanzee tracking the next day. Dinner and overnight stay full board basis.
Chimp Tracking: 3 – 5 HRS
Travel Time: 2 HRS
Wake up early after yesterday’s long rest and take your breakfast. Head for briefing on chimpanzee tracking at the park offices. The briefing is all about how to act around chimpanzee communities and what to expect. Chimpanzee trekking usually take between 3 to 5 hours. Afterwards return to your lodge for lunch and rest. Your guide will start the 2 hour journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the evening. Rest early as you will be having an early morning game drive at the park tomorrow. Dinner and stay overnight on full board basis.
Meal Plan: Full Board
You will wake up early and head to the pack with your packed breakfast for the early morning game drive. The early morning game drive is planned to allow you spot the nocturnal animals heading back to their dens after a busy night of hunting. Expect to see Leopard, hippos, hartebeests, lions, primates and early morning risers especially birds. You will be taken back to the Lodge to have early lunch then go rest as you wait for the next activity. At 2.00 pm, our guide will transfer you to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. The Kazinga Channel is a collection point for most of the parks wild animals. It is also one of the best spots for bird watching in Africa. You will be extremely impressed with the sightings in this channel that separates Lake George from Lake Edward. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.

Wake up to a new day and take your breakfast. The guide will come to pick you up for another game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will go to see the world-famous Tree Climbing Lions at the Ishasa section of the park. After having enough of the game drives, its time to cross the border and go to Rwanda and to the volcanoes National Park. Marvel at the beautiful countryside’s of Rwanda and Uganda along the way. Lunch will be taken on the way. Once you reach your lodge near the park, try to rest early to be ready for gorilla trekking the next day. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.

Wake up early to take breakfast then head to the park office in Musanze for briefing on gorilla trekking at 7:00 am. After the briefing, you will be assigned a gorilla family to track. Use the chance to hire a porter to help you with extra luggage. Tracking mountain gorillas can be challenging depending on the location of the family but at the end of the day, its all worth it. The chance to see mountain gorillas in the wild is the ultimate wildlife experience. Follow instructions from the park guides and wardens. You will have one hour with the gorilla family and then head back to the starting point where you will find your driver waiting for you. After your silverback gorilla tour, head back to the lodge and take lunch then rest. After the rest, you will be picked up by the guide who will take you to visit the Ibyiwacu cultural village in Musanze – just near the park. Dinner and overnight on full board basis.

After yesterday’s rest, wake up early once again, take breakfast and head to the Volcanoes National Park offices for briefing on golden monkey tracking. You will be assigned a guide and if you wish, hire a porter. After some time, tracking, you will see the golden monkeys on top of the trees with some climbing to the ground. Take as many photos of these lovely but endangered primates for your memory. Once done, head back to your lodge for lunch and rest. Our guide will pick you up later in the evening to go to visit the twin lakes Ruhondo and Burera. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.
Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch
You will wake up early, take breakfast and hit the road to Kigali. The journey is 3 hours but you will once again be treated to the rolling hills of Rwanda’s countryside as well as the green tea plantations. Lunch will be in Kigali after which you will go for a tour of the city. The tour involves visiting the Gisozi Genocide memorial site, the city museum, the city markets and gift shops where you can buy local crafts/arts. After this final tour of Rwanda, you will then be driven to Airport for your departure.
