10 Days Uganda – Rwanda

This 10 Days Rwanda Uganda Safari Holiday involves seeing the best that Uganda and Rwanda has to offer. The tour starts in Rwanda or Uganda and involves several activities in the two countries among which include, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National park, Double Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park in Uganda and The Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. The tour also includes game drives at Queen Elizabeth National Park, Golden Monkey Tracking, Kigali City Tour, cultural visits to the Ibyi’iwacu and Batwa pygmies. We believe this tour package will leave clients greatly impressed and the activities memorable. If you have only 10 days, you better combine the two countries.

Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner
Arrive at Entebe International Airport, meet and greet and get transferred to Kibale National Park with a lunch stopover in Fort Portal Town. This park is a Primatologist’s treasure with a population of more than 1000 Chimpanzees. Kibale Forest is a wonderful place to experience the extra ordinary diversity of life in a tropical rainforest. Along the way, enjoy seeing the beautiful countryside of Uganda. Check out the long horned ankole cattle along the road.  You should reach early enough so that you have a long rest as you prepare for Chimpanzee tracking the next day. Dinner and overnight stay full board basis.
Chimp Tracking: 3 – 5 HRS
Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth: 2 -3 HRS
Meal Plan: Full Board
Wake up early and take a quick cup of coffee before heading to the Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for briefing by the head guide about what to expect from your chimpanzee tracking adventure. Chimpanzee trekking usually takes 3-5 hours after which you will return to your Lodge to take lunch and have rest. Our guide will then transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the evening. The journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park takes 2 hours. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.
Game Drive: Half Day
Meal Plan: Full Board
You will set off early with your packed breakfast from the hotel for an early morning game drive to spot the early rising wildlife that include predators and other nocturnal mammals as they retreat to their dens. You will spot buffaloes, hippos, leopard, lions as well as early morning resident and migratory birds. Once you are done with the game drive, head back to the hotel for lunch and rest. After the rest, our guide will transfer you to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. The Channel is collection point for most of the park animals and is one of the best spots to see wildlife in Africa. It is also one of the best places to go for bird watching in Africa.  Dinner and stay overnight on full board basis.

After yesterday’s wildlife viewing, you should be ready for another final game drive in the great Queen Elizabeth National Park. This time you will go to the Ishasha Sector which is famous around the world for Tree Climbing Lions. After enough of the game drive, you will head for Bwindi impenetrable forest with lunch taken en-route. You should arrive at Bwindi impenetrable forest late evening in time for an early rest and ready for gorilla trekking the next day. Dinner and stay overnight on full board basis.
Gorilla Tracking: 3 – 5 HRS

Wake up very early and take breakfast after-which head to the park for briefing on gorilla tracking. briefing for gorilla trekking takes place at 7:00 am and is conducted by the head park guide. It is a compulsory to attend gorilla tracking briefly which is designed to share with you a relevant information that will guide you throughout the activity. It is also during the briefing that you will get to choose which gorilla family to track. You will have a choice of 11 habituated gorilla families found in Bwindi impenetrable forest. Gorilla Trekking is challenging and involves moving deep into the forest where you will pass through thick bushy shrubs, steep areas and muddy ground. However, you will be rewarded with one hour of gorilla watching which is one of the best wildlife experiences. Listen to instructions from the guides while with the gorillas. After your one hour watching gorillas is done, you should head to the starting point to meet your guide who will take you back to hotel for lunch and rest. In the evening head out for a visit to the Batwa pygmy community. The Batwa are the original inhabitants of the Bwindi impenetrable forest but have been relocated away from the park to gazette it for mountain gorilla conservation. Dinner and accommodation on full board basis.
Meal Plan: Full Board
You will wake up early to a beautiful breakfast and be ready for a transfer to lake Bunyonyi. This is one of the most beautiful places in Uganda, with a beautiful lake and a collection of so many bird species – A must visit Uganda destination! Once you arrive, you will visit Lake Bunyonyi and have a boat-ride in the evening along the lake. Dinner and stay overnight on full board basis.

You will wake up and take a beautiful breakfast and be ready to hit the road. You will cross to Rwanda and take lunch en-route. Enjoy the amazing countryside and landscape of both Uganda and Rwanda during your journey – Take photos and ask for short stops if something catches your attention. You will notice that most of the locals live a modest life but always happy especially the children along the way. You should reach in time to have an early rest and ready for gorilla trekking the next day. Dinner and accommodation based on full board basis.
Meal Plan: Full Board
Briefing for gorilla trekking takes place at 7:00 am by a head park guide at the park headquarters. You will be given an opportunity to select form 10 gorilla families during a Rwanda gorilla safari. Porters are available for hire should you need one. Once you are done with briefing, you can then head to the forest for gorilla tracking. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda like anywhere else can be challenging but the experience of watching mountain gorillas in the wild is indescribable. You will always remember the time you spent with the gorilla family. Always stay calm and do not make sudden movements. Once you finish the activity, head back to the starting point to meet the guide who will drive you back to the lodge for lunch and a rest. In the evening, prepare to visit the Iby’iwacu cultural village  near the Volcanoes national park. Dinner and accommodation based on full board basis.
Meal Plan: Full Board
After early morning breakfast, you will set off to the Volcanoes National Park offices for briefing on Golden Monkey Tracking in Rwanda. Hire a porter if you wish and go out in search of the cute golden monkeys. You will eventually spot them on tree tops and branches with some coming down to feed on the ground. Once done tracking the golden monkeys, you should go back to the lodge for lunch and rest. Later in the evening, your guide will take you to visit the twin Lakes Ruhondo and Burera. Dinner and stay overnight on full board basis.
Meal Plan: Breakfast & Lunch
In the morning after breakfast we will drive you to Kigali, the Capital of Rwanda. After briefing you about the tour, you will start by touring the city of Kigali. You will go to visit the Gisozi genocide war memorial site to learn about the 1994 Rwandan genocide which led to the death of over 500,000 Rwandans. After learning about this sad episode in Rwanda’s history, you will visit the Kings palace and the local markets to buy some souvenirs. After the tour we drive you to Airport to catch your flight.
