Day 01: Arrival in Dar es salaam – Tanzania

Meet and great at Dar es salaam International Airport and get transferred to Dar City Centre for accommodation at Tiffany Hotel. The Tiffany Diamond Hotel & Spa offers world-class accommodation, international and local cuisine, leisure facilities and business amenities. It is a newly opened Hotel located at the heart of Dar es salaam city. The Hotel offers74 guest rooms fitted with all the amenities required by both Business Man / Women and Tourists, such as High speed free Wifi, Flat screen satellite T. V, Mini fridge, Safe deposit which are big enough to hold a lap top, Private ensuite, Fully A/C, Hot shower, reading table and chairs, Coffee Maker, Word rope, Jaccuzzi in some rooms and phone, just to make sure our guest feel at home away from home. Dinner and stay overnight on half board basis.

Day 02: Dar es Salaam – Selous Game Reserve
>> Dar es salaam – Selous: 5 – 6 hrs
>> Boat Cruise: 1 – 3 hrs
>> Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
In the morning you’ll be picked up from your Hotel and driven to Selous Game Reserve. It is relatively far and you will have a picnic lunch en route or if you leave early in the morning you will enjoy a hot lunch at the Lodge shortly after arriving. This is the beginning of your bush adventure in the African wilderness, where you will spend 4 nights at Selous Butembo Tented Lodge, which is perched on the edge of the mighty Rufiji River. The tents are generously structured with a safari atmosphere, tastefully furnished and with en suite toilets, sinks and showers. All tents are facing the Mighty Rufiji River. 

In the late afternoon after relaxing you’ll go on a thrilling boat safari on the Rufiji River where you’ll see hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Your guide will also be able to point out interesting birds and plant species during this trip. Rufiji River offers the most exciting Boat Safari in Selous Game Reserve. The river is full of hippopotamus and crocodiles, which can be watched at a close range. Birds and other animals along the river banks expose the beauty of Tanzania’s wilderness. Buffaloes, water-bucks and impala are usually seen in the water meadows; elephants and lions sometimes seen drinking water. Dinner and stay overnight at Selous Butembo Lodge on full board basis.

Day 03 – 04: Full Day Game Drive in Selous Game Reserve

You will be spending 2 days doing game drives in the plains of Selous Game Reserve. The Reserve is reputed to be the best off the beaten track wildlife safari destination away from the crowds. Selous is the largest Game Reserve in Africa with its area being more than the size of Switzerland and is full of wild animals and birds’ species whereby more than 350 Bird species have been recorded. These will be special days exploring the wilderness in the biggest game reserve in Africa and viewing diverse wildlife which includes lion, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, elephant, wild dog and so much more. You might even see the rare Sable antelope! Unlike the Northern parts of Tanzania where animals and birds are more habituated, animals here are timider. Dinner and overnight at Butembo Lodge on full board basis.

Day 5: Selou Game Reserve – Mikumi Park
>> Selous Reserve – Mikumi Park: 5 – 6 hrs
>> Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast we’ll leave Selous Butembo Lodge with a packed lunch to enjoy on our game drive on the way to Mikumi National Park where we will be staying at Mikumi Safari Lodge which offers 8 cottages integrated into the surrounding environment with total privacy. Each cottage is fitted with warm and cold showers in a specious bathroom. Each cottage includes a raised balcony offering a beautiful view and are powered by solar panels (with a back-up generator for low-light times). The restaurant offers both Tanzanian and international meals made fresh from local products. The bar offers a wide range of wines, spirits and soft drinks. WiFi is available at the lodge.

Mikumi National Park is nestled between the Uluguru Mountains to the northeast, and the Rubeho Mountains, Udzungwa Mountains and Rift Valley escarpment to the southwest. As part of the Selous ecosystem, it benefits from the highest game density of the entire conservation area. The landscape here is beautiful and the wildlife prolific. You can expect to see animals like elephant, giraffe, zebra, eland, kudu, wildebeest, antelope, tree-climbing lion, leopard, wild dog, jackal and an amazing array of colorful birds. Dinner and stay overnight on full board basis.

Day 6 – 7: Full Day Game Drives in Mikumi National Park

>> Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
We will be having 2 full days of game drive around Mikumi Park. The beautiful plains, surrounding mountains and hills bring compelling natural beauty with addition to superb light, make it a wonderful venue for wildlife photographers. There is a rich variety of bird species as well as large numbers of giraffes, buffaloes and elephants and close to the water holes also tree-climbing lions, leopards, wild hunting dogs, black-blacked jackal and hippos. Furthermore, we can see zebras, wildebeest, elephants, impala, warthog, eland and other antelopes. Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety. Dinner and stay overnight on full board basis.

Day 08: Hiking in Udzungwa Mountain National Park.

>> Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
After breakfast we take our lunch boxes and drive 90 kms to Udzungwa National Park which is now one of the top ten forests for bird conservation in Africa. The main physical features here include rolling hills, dissected plateau, waterfalls and an undulating upland blanketed by a thick rain forest which colors the area with an ethereal beauty. Variety of animal species can be found here, including water buffalo, elephants, leopards and full of reptiles. Other animals include rare primates red colobus, Sanje crested mangabey monkeys, black and yellow baboon, which live in slopes of mountain all sharing the same habitation. We are going to have our picnic lunch in the waterfall area or at any other place which will be suggested by our Tour Guide. 

We arrive on time for a walking safari in this beautiful Park enjoying and experiencing the stunning natural beauty of the park. After taking our picnic lunch in the bush we then proceed exploring the area, wonderful waterfall, endemic red colobus monkey and the beautiful scenery with a lot of butterflies. In the late evening we drive to Mikumi for overnight stay in full board basis at Mikumi Safari Lodge.

Day 09:  Mikumi – Dar es salaam

After waking up in the morning we take our breakfast, collect our lunch boxes and start driving to Dar es salaam. Nestled along a natural harbor on the Indian Ocean, Dar es Salaam is a multicultural city, home to African Tanzanians, Arabic and South Asian communities, British and German expatriates, Catholics, Lutherans and Muslims. This diversity in people is reflected in the culture: the city boasts international cuisine ranging from traditional Tanzanian barbecue and Zanzibari food to Thai, Chinese and American restaurants. Its vibrant music scene has witnessed a rise in Bongo Flava, a form of hip hop. We arrive Dar es salaam in the late afternoon. We check in at Tiffany Hotel & Spa and relax. Its also a good time to get yourself prepared for your departure tomorrow. Dinner and stay overnight on half board basis.

Day 10: Fly to Zanzibar

After taking breakfast we drive to Airport to take our flight to the spice island of Zanzibar. Meet and greet at Zanzibar International Airport and get transferred to Khulala Ocean Blue Resort – Zanzibar South East Coast at Paje Village. The newly built Bungalows are all facing the Indian Ocean. All rooms have private terrace, large sleeping area, clothing closets with safe boxes, air conditioners and ceiling fans. The bathrooms have hair dryers, large vanities, huge separate showers from toilets and Muslim facilities for toilets. The Resort offers an afternoon cocktails under palm trees on our private beach, sun downer at our festive pool bar and romantic candlelight beach dinners in evening. Dinner and stay overnight at Khulala Ocean Blue Resort on half board basis.

Day 11 – 12: Leisure Days

Now you have 3 days to enjoy with beach leisure on the beautiful beach of Paje Village which is voted as the most beautiful beach on the island with gorgeous views of the Indian Ocean’s tidal changes and cooling winds! It is an ideal getaway for both kite surfers and tourists looking for quality while enjoying a laid-back environment in a tropical paradise. As this is now your time to enjoy with beach leisure you are completely free, you can go swimming on the Indian Ocean Waters, read books beside the Hotel Swimming pool or just relax in your room. By your own you can experience Fishing, go on Scuba Dive or just stay idol and relax. Dinner and overnight stay at Khulala Ocean Blue Resort on half board basis.

Day 13: City and Spice Tours

After breakfast, at 09h00 we drive to Kizimbani for the spice tour. Explore the island and its hidden treasures at a relaxed pace. Travel deep into the interior to see the fragrant spice plantations. Discover how pods, bark, buds and berries are harvested and dried. The intoxicating aromas of fresh cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg will delight the senses and stimulate appetites, so be sure to sample the sweet tropical fruits and zesty curries Zanzibar is famous for. This is the cheapest place to buy locally made perfumes, oils and spice rings. After taking a locally prepared spice lunch between 12h00 – 13h00, we drive to Zanzibar Stone Town with our guide for Zanzibar Stone Town tour and accommodation. 

The architecture here has been shaped by generations of explorers and spice traders and provides many interesting photography opportunities. We will pay a visit to some of the most interesting sites in Stone Town including the former slave market, National Museum, Old Fort, City Market etc…. 

We will give you some time to walk around by yourself or with a guide for shopping and leisure before we drive back to the hotel for leisure and accommodation. Dinner and overnight stay on half board basis.

Day 14: Leisure Day

Day 15: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport

After breakfast, lunch or dinner we can take our road transfer to Airport to catch your flight to Dar es salaam. From there you can fly back home or to any other destination of your choice. Departure time will depend on your reporting time at Airport. Your check out time today is 10Am. Lunch and dinner are not included today. After checking out you have to keep your luggage at the Store or at reception.
