This is a 6 days holiday package on the beautiful island of Pemba Island in Zanzibar. You will enjoy watching the friendly bates of Pemba – Gigantic fruit bates indigenous to Pemba Island, gathering in mixed-sex groups of up to 850 individuals to roost. These are the Africa’s largest bat species. Visit the most popular Ngezi Rain Forest which accommodate monkeys, bush babies, fruit bats, different kinds of birds, flowers, spices and natural lakes. Step up to the Sacred Places in the forest of which local people use for prayers, requests and offerings to the spirits of the dead. Proceed to the longest beach in East Africa, Vumawimbi beach for the beach leisure. Explore the capital of the island, Chake Chake, visit the Old Oil Distillery and spice farm to learn more about the history, life cycle and the uses of various types of spices, medicinal plants, root crops and flowering trees, we will also show you how spices are made into oil. Finally, we will take you to the beautiful Misali island. The island offers idyllic beaches and nature trails. Misali’s treasure is its rich ecosystem which boasts 42 types of corals, over 300 species of fish, a rare subspecies of vervet monkeys, rarely seen coconut crabs and a nesting site for green and hawksbill turtles. Snorkeling here is breath-taking! After breakfast we drive to kidike Flying Fox Forest to watch the friendly bates of Pemba – Gigantic fruit bates indigenous to Pemba Island which gives visitors a great opportunity to see these creatures up close. Gathering in mixed-sex groups of up to 850 individuals to roost, the Pemba flying fox creates quite a spectacle. These are the Africa’s largest bat species, a type of fruit bat with a wing span of up to 70cm and can weigh in at around half a kilo. From here we drive directly to Ngezi Rain Forest. The forest is covering an area of 3,600 acres, mostly comprising primary forest. Mjoho is the most common tree species of Ngezi's moist forest. Its canopy can be up to 35 meters above the ground. Another common specie in Ngezi is Mgulele, its broad crown of which can grow up to 45 meters. There are also monkeys, bush babies, fruit bats, different kinds of birds, flowers, spices and natural lakes. If you are interested, we can take some more time with you visiting the "cultural areas " these are parts of the forest which are sacred and people periodically sweep and clean to appease their ancestors. These sacred places called "MIZIMU" are used for prayers, requests and offerings to the spirits of the dead. Finally, from here we can either drive to Manta for lunch or Vumawimbi Beach for picnic lunch and leisure. Vumawimbi is the longest beach in East Africa and one of the best places to relax, soak up the sun and take a break from some busy sightseeing. In the late afternoon we drive back to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight stay on half board basis.

Lunch Time: 13h00 At Misali Sunset Beach

We take breakfast early in the morning and starts visiting Chake Chake, Oil Distillery and Spice farm. Depending on where we are, we can leave for Chake Chake at 08h00 to explore the southern part of the island. Upon arrival at Mtambwe Village, your Tour Guide will escort you on a walking tour in the spice farms. This is where you can see variety of spices including cloves, lemongrass, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, black pepper and vanilla before visiting the oil distillery factory in Chake Chake Town where you will see how spices are made into oil. From here we drive further down to Chake Town to proceed with Sightseeing tour. The Business Town and the Capital of Pemba Island, Chake Chake is located in the middle of Pemba Island about 15 minutes’ drive from Karume Airport. The Town offers a great chance for history and culture lovers to know and understand the history of Pemba through time. Lots of key buildings are still in place. You will get a chance to visit the old Slave Port, the Old fort, English Garden and City Market among others. After lunch and leisure, we drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay on half board basis.

This is your day to relax on the beach and explore the natural beauty of the Resort’s environment. You are free to go on swimming on the Indian Ocean Waters, stay idol beside the Hotel swimming pool or just have a walk to discover the village life. Pemba is a rare gem. A remote tropical and pristine island off the east coast of Africa, untouched by mass tourism. Home to compassion, simplicity and time. In this tranquil and beautiful corner of the world you’ll be able to fully enjoy the company of each other. Undisturbed by anything but the disconnected joy of the present and the untroubled peaceful atmosphere that dreams are made of. If you are interested in marine excursions, the Indian Ocean floor is hard to beat. Many of its islands and atolls are protected by a coral barrier that creates lagoons of emerald water, perfect for snorkeling. On the other side of the reef, more experienced divers can find underwater landscapes that will take your breath away. With a tropical climate, the water temperature never drops below 22ºC, which means almost any time of the year is good for diving. The visibility exceeds 40 metres at some dive sites, so you can even give yourself the luxury of going on a night dive. Put on your fins and enjoy the action! Otherwise, you can have a leisure walk to discover the nearby village life, go to Chake Chake for the sightseeing or just stay idol at the Hotel. Dinner and overnight stay on bed and breakfast.

Depending on your flight time, after breakfast you can relax on the beach, lie beside the swimming pool reading your books or just walk around the village to wait for your pick-up time to Pemba Airport where you will catch your flight to Dar es salaam, Zanzibar or to any other destination.
