At 07h30 after early breakfast we drive to Wesha where we will take our boat to Misali island. This island is world famous for it’s corals and nature. The island offers idyllic beaches and nature trails. Misali’s treasure is its rich ecosystem which boasts 42 types of corals, over 300 species of fish, a rare subspecies of vervet monkeys, rarely seen coconut crabs and a nesting site for green and hawksbill turtles. Snorkeling here is breath-taking! Even close to the beach it’s possible to see bigger fishes. Unlike most places in Pemba, the tides make no difference to these activities. Among the locals, Misali has religious status as they believe the prophet Hadhara used the island as his prayer mat. The strong Islamic environmental maintenance ethic is used to support management and environment education, and the island is a 'sacred gift' to the earth from the Islamic faith as part of an ecumenical Millennium celebration arranged by the World Wildlife Fund in Nepal in November 2000. After the tour we take lunch and relax. Dinner and stay overnight on bed and breakfast basis.
