Discover Al Batinah Region
Guests will be picked up from the airport. Our tour will start by driving towards Barka, which is a thriving coastal town that has become something of crossroads between the regional centres of Sohar and Rustaq. What makes this town unique is their age-old tradition of bull-fighting and their famous Omani Halwa.

A 40-minute drive from Muscat, Barka provides the perfect day trip and is a favourite resort destination amongst Omanis. We continue to Al Hazm Castle, is one of the most magnificent castles in Oman. It was built in 1708 towards the end of the reign of Al Yarubi tribe over Oman when they made Al Rustaq the capital at that time. Located in Al Rustaq in Al Batinah Governorate, about 160 km away from Muscat, the designer of this castle is Imam Sultan bin Saif al Yarubi. Al Hazm Castle is a fortified structure and at the same time it was a palace in which the Imam live in. It is worth noting that Al Hazm Castle is on the Unesco’s list for World Heritage sites. Then we continue to Rustaq Fort-entrance fee not included, which was originally built in the 12th century and was reconstructed to its present state in 16th century when Al Rustaq was the capital of Oman. With three levels and four watch towers, it is one of the largest forts in the Sultanate and is open to the public. Then we continue to Al Kasfah Hotspring, is a natural hot spring with waters reaching temperatures of around 45 degrees Celsius. Unlike other springs in the Sultanate, the Kasfah hot springs have traces of sulphur in the water that has been clinically proven to have healing properties especially for those with joint issues and other arterial issues. The warm spring water along with the Sulphur has been known to treat a variety of health issues including helping in the production of endorphins, helping one relax and sleep better, stimulation of the immune system and help with skin related issues. After that we drive back to Muscat and drop off.
