This is an amazing 15 Days road safari combining Uganda and Rwanda, visiting some of the best National Parks. This package offers the best of the best in both places of Uganda and Rwanda. This part of East African safari package starts from Uganda and ends in Kigali Rwanda. Visitors will visit the Murchison Falls and its park, go track chimpanzee in Kibale National Park and a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park among other Uganda destinations. They will then cross of to Rwanda and visit the volcanoes National Park for Gorilla Trekking and Golden Monkey Tracking – as well as cultural visits, a tour of Kigali City and one of the genocide memorial sites, and lastly enjoy and relax at the shore of Lake Kivu at Gisenyi in Rubavu District in Rwanda’s Western Province. This area is much known for water sports activities and beach leisure.

A Company guide will be waiting for you at the airport on arrival. The guide will drive you to your hotel in Kampala which is a lively city with a long history. Bustling Kampala makes a good introduction to Uganda. It’s a dynamic and engaging city, with few of the hassles of other East African capitals and several worthy attractions to keep you occupied for a couple of days. As the heartland of the Buganda kingdom, Kampala has a rich and colourful history, visible in several fascinating palaces and compounds from where the nation was run until the arrival of colonialism. Dinner and stay overnight on half board.

Wake up in the morning, take breakfast and set off early morning for Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way marvel at the beautiful Uganda countryside and bypass the former Luwero War Triangle. You will stop along the way just before Murchison Falls National Park to track White Rhino at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. White Rhinos are a critically endangered species and were wiped out of Murchison Falls National Park due to poaching. The sanctuary was founded to save the few remaining Rhinos and help restock the major national parks. After watching the rhinoceros, have lunch at Amuka lodge and then continue to Murchison Falls National Park. Once you arrive, you will be immediately taken to the top of the Murchison Falls where you will get to take photos of this great waterfall from the very top. Continue to tour around the waterfalls and hear the roaring sound of the great river Nile. Dinner and stay overnight on full board basis.

You will wake up early for an eventful day to take breakfast and head for a game drive along the southern banks of the river Nile. During this morning drive, the park guides will take you through the Kasenyi section of the park where you will have several opportunities to spot four of Africa’s Big 5 which include Elephants, Lions, Leopards and Buffalo. You will enjoy the beautiful views of the African Savannah and also spot various primates, Hartebeest, giraffes, Bushbucks, hyena, Jackal, the Uganda Kob among several creatures. After this morning cruise, head out for lunch and rest at your lodge.
In the afternoon, head out for a launch cruise along the river Nile that goes up to the bottom of the falls. The river Nile has the largest concentration of crocodiles and hippos in the world and here at the Murchison Falls section of the Nile, you will be able to see these two massive creatures up-close. The river bank is a gathering point for most of the parks animals, so get prepared to be treated to amazing wildlife sights from the safety of your boat. Bird lovers will be excited to see a large collection of both resident and migratory species. Some of the bird species include the rare shoebill stork, Goliath Heron, Black-headed Gonolek, African Skimmer, Long-toed Plover, Fish Eagle, Saddle-billed Stork and Grey-crowned Crane. Dinner and stay overnight on full board basis.

You should rise up early to take breakfast and prepare for the long journey to Kibale. Along the way, view the beautiful undulating Uganda countryside with changing landscape and busy locals in their gardens and markets. Look out for the long-horned ankole cattle crazing along the roadsides. You will stop for lunch in Fort Portal and take a tour around this small town. Fort Portal is a strategically located in an area with great weather and green vegetation throughout the year. You will also see the headquarters of the Toro Kingdom before heading to the nearby Kibale National Park. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.
Chimpanzee Tracking: 3 – 5 Hrs
Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth: 2 -3 Hrs

After yesterday’s rest, wake up very early for breakfast and head for the Kibale National Park headquarters for briefing on chimpanzee trekking. The head guide will let you know all there is to know about chimpanzee trekking ranging from how to conduct yourself to what to carry along. Chimpanzee tracking is a 3-5 hours activity. Kibale forest is famous for chimpanzee tracking but there are other things that will interest you. The forest is a birders paradise and several primates and mammals call the park home such as giant forest hogs. Once concluded, you will head back to your hotel for lunch and rest. The guide will then transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the evening. The journey to the Queen Elizabeth National Park takes 2 hours. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.

Wake up early for what is going to be an exciting and eventful day. Our guide will come pick you up and take you for an early morning game drive at one of the sectors of the park. Come along with your breakfast or coffee to take during the game drive. The intention of this early morning game drive is to give visitors a chance to spot nocturnal animals returning back to their dens after hunting through the night. This is the time that you will spot Leopards and even Hippos rushing back to the water after grazing away during the night. You will spot early risers like birds too and buffaloes, lions, hartebeests, primates and countless other creatures. After all is done, you will head back to the lodge for lunch and rest before the next days activity.
At 2.00 pm, you will be transferred to the Kazinga Channel for your late afternoon boat cruise. The Kazinga Channel is a collection point for most of the park’s wild life and one of the very best places to view wildlife in Africa. We believe this moment will remain in your memory for a long time. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.

You will wake up to take breakfast and be ready for another game drive to spot tree climbing lions at the Ishasa sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. We expect you to see certain creatures you might have missed out during this final game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. After this game drive, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in time to rest and prepare for gorilla tracking the next day. Lunch will be taken en-route. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.
Gorilla Tracking: 3 – 5 Hrs

After early morning breakfast, head to the park offices for briefing on gorilla trekking that takes place at 7:00 am. The head guide of the park will let you know what to expect during the activity, what to carry along and how to behave once you are with the Ugandan gorilla family. You will be assigned a gorilla family before heading out to the park. Many gorilla trekkers prefer hiring porters to help with extra luggage. Gorilla tracking involves going through difficult terrain and depends on the location of the gorilla group you are following. Once you are with the apes, take as many photos as you can as you are only allowed one hour with the gorillas. Mountain Gorillas can be very playful, curious and will often come close to you. Listen to the guides instructions and always stay calm. The requirements and rules for gorilla trekking will guide you while with the gorilla family.
After completing the activity, you should head back to the starting point where you will meet the driver to take you back to the lodge for lunch and rest. The afternoon is time to visit the Batwa Pygmy community. These former inhabitants of Bwindi forest were relocated outside the park to avoid conflicts with the forest creatures. There cultural dances, activities and history will fascinate you as will the several projects started to help them adjust to life outside the forest. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.

Wake up at your own time after yesterday’s amazing activities and have late breakfast. After checking out, the guide will drive you to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is a small but perhaps the most naturally beautiful Lake in Uganda. It is frequented by lovers who want to get away from the busy city life and wish to experience the romantic, cool, serene and quite Lakeside. We believe this is the place for you to relax after 8 days visiting several places in Uganda. Relax and watch locals fishing and swimming along the lake. You will go for a boat ride later in the evening and hope from island to island. Lake Bunyonyi is one of Uganda’s top destinations for bird watching and has a mixture of bird species that will impress any birder. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.

You will wake up refreshed to take late breakfast before embarking on the long journey to Rwanda. Enjoy the journey and the beautiful countryside of Uganda and Rwanda. Lunch will be taken en-route. You should reach early at the Volcanoes National Park and rest so as to be ready for your second gorilla trekking in Rwanda the following day. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.
Wake up and take your breakfast and head for briefing on gorilla tracking at 7:00 am at the Kinigi headquarters in Musanze. Rwanda has 10 habituated gorilla families and we advise you to choose one wisely taking into consideration your overall body fitness. Some gorilla families live further away from the park offices and may require more hours of tracking to find them. After one hour with the Gorilla Family, you will return to the starting point where you will meet our guide to take you back to the lodge for lunch and rest. In the evening, you will be taken to visit the Iby’iwacu cultural village in Musanze which is near the vicinity of the Volcanoes National Park. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.

You will start the day by waking up early. Take breakfast and go to the Volcanoes National Park offices for briefing on Golden Monkey Tracking. Select your porter if you have extra luggage or heavy equipment. After some time moving in the forest, you will spot troops of Golden Monkeys on top of trees with some climbing down occasionally. Take photos of these cute but endangered primates. Afterwards, head to the lodge for lunch and rest before going for an evening drive to visit the twin lakes of Ruhondo and Burera. Dinner and overnight stay on full board basis.

You will start the day with breakfast at your hotel at leisure and be ready to set off from the Volcanoes National Park to Lake Kivu in Gisenyi. Lake Kivu is the biggest fresh water lake in Rwanda and Congo. Visitors frequent the Lake because of its natural beauty and numerous islands. Its is a beautiful place to be and the government of Rwanda has made good work of not only promoting but developing several tourism infrastructures along the lake shores. You will have lunch overlooking lake Kivu once you arrive. In the afternoon, you will be taken for a boat ride along lake Kivu as you tour the various islands. Dinner stay and overnight on full board basis.

You have 2 days to relax on the sandy beach and explore the lovely Lake Kivu by your own. Gisenyi, with a population of approximately 250,000 is a resort city in Rubavu district on the shores of Lake Kivu in the Western Province of Rwanda. The Town is a home to the number of resorts on the shores of Lake Kivu with sandy beaches ideal for water sports. The beautiful landscape villas, plush Hotels and clubs take up virtually all lake Kivu frontage and are quite a contrast to African town-ship on the hillside above. For those adventurers, there is a variety of water sports available plus plush Hotels and Restaurants. Swimming and sunbathing on the sandy beaches are free of charge. It is a pleasant town to stay in. Dinner and stay over night on full board basis.
In the morning after breakfast we will drive you to Kigali, the Capital of Rwanda. After briefing you about the tour, you will start by touring the city of Kigali. You will go to visit the Gisozi genocide war memorial site to learn about the 1994 Rwandan genocide which led to the death of over 500,000 Rwandans. After learning about this sad episode in Rwanda’s history, you will visit the Kings palace and the local markets to buy some souvenirs. After the tour we drive you to the Hotel. Dinner and stay overnight on full board.

Today you are either flying back home or to another destination. You will wakeup In the morning, take your breakfast and relax as you wait for your time to fly. This is also the great day for shopping and exploring the city. By your own you can visit some more attractions located within the city while your luggage have just been kept at Store or somewhere at reception after checking out. When the right time comes, we travel to Airport to catch our flight. End of tour
